Welcome To the Pre-Med page for students at the Missouri University of Science and Technology

Missouri S&T students have been very successful in gaining admission to medical, veterinary and dental schools. A pre-dentistry or pre-medicine program (including pre-veterinary medicine) does not require a specific major. It does require considerable coursework in chemistry (through one year of organic chemistry), one to one and a half years of biology (a background in anatomy, biochemistry, and physiology is highly recommended) and one year of physics. The pre-dental / pre-medical student is urged to consider elective courses in computer science, economics, English, fine arts, foreign languages, history, philosophy, psychology, sociology and other disciplines which will add breadth to the student's preparation.
