Biology majors need 130 semester hours to meet the requirements for the Bachelor of Science Degree. Required courses include:
12 semester hours in Humanities, including English 20 and English 60
9 semesters hours of Social Science, including at least one course dealing with the U.S. Constitution (History 112, 175, 176 or Political Science 90)

The requirements for the Bachelor of Arts with a Pre-Medicine Emphasis are the same as for the Bachelor of Arts as described above with the following additional requirements:
2 Semesters of Organic Chemistry Laboratory (Chem 226 and 228)
2 semesters of Physics with Laboratory (21 or 31, 22, 25 or 35, 26)
Need to fulfill the requirements for the Bachelor of Arts in Biological Sciences except the foreign language requirement and the requirements for Missouri certification in teaching Biology.

Biology minors need to take a minimum of 20 hours of Biological Sciences coursework which should include Bio 110, 112, 115, or 211 and at least 7 hours of advanced Biology coursework to be selected upon consultation with a Biological Sciences department advisor. Students minoring in Biological Sciences should declare these intentions prior to the junior year.
Students majoring in Biological Sciences are eligible to pursue a minor in bioinfomatics. Contact the Biological Sciences department for more information.
