Cell and Molecular Biology Focus

Students who are interested in cellular and molecular biology and genetics will find a variety of rewarding career opportunities in public, government, corporate and private agency positions.  Individuals with a BS or BA can find careers in fields such as biotechnology, microbiology, cell biology, and neuroscience conducting both basic and applied research.  More advanced opportunities are available to students who choose to pursue training in Master's and Ph.D. programs after receiving their Bachelor's degree in Biological Sciences.

Students at Missouri S&T who choose to focus their studies in cellular and molecular biology can engage in professional development through involvement in our HELIX student club, as well as participation in synthetic biology with our iGEM Design Team.  You can find out more about what our students have to say by checking out the experiences of Morgan Long '19 and William Cavanagh '22.
